Beacon Sports: Sailfish baseball wraps up preseason

Palm Beach Atlantic University’s baseball team has begun pre-season warm-up games.
On Friday, Oct. 9, the Sailfish played Palm Beach Community College, and this past Friday and Saturday were their final two pre-season games.

The team looks to have great potential this year as it wraps up its fall training.

Last year’s baseball team won the regional championship for the NCAA. This was an extremely important accomplishment for the team as they continue to grow.

Fashion has always been a major influence on people’s lives. Who doesn’t love fashion? Personal style is a characteristic all individuals live by every day to feel comfortable and fabulous.

Throughout the years, fashion has changed in many different ways, and due to the ongoing concern of keeping our planet safe, the trend of “going green” has taken a whole new meaning within the fashion industry.

“Designers, manufacturers, growers, retailers and consumers of clothing recognize the enormous global consequences of conventional clothing industry practices and the force of change is gaining momentum,” said an article on www.greenlivingideas.com. “Earth-friendly fashion made from alternative materials is on its way to the ‘in crowd.’”

Beacon Features: Students enjoy the art of dance in Jazz 1 class

Dance is a wonderful form of expression that has been enjoyed and loved by all ages. Ballet, jazz, hip-hop, and ballroom are some of the different styles of dance classes taught here at Palm Beach Atlantic University.

Gaynelle Gosselin, adjunct professor of dance at the School of Music and Fine Arts, teaches the Jazz 1 class to 11 students. This energetic dance class meets every Tuesday and Thursday from 2p.m. to 3:15 p.m. at the Vera Lea Rinker Hall.
