Heavy storm is the culprit in power outage

Palm fronds sent onto power lines east of the Warren Library have caused a power outage to that area.

According to an employee of Florida Power & Light, the storm, which moved through this afternoon and caused isolated flooding in many areas of Palm Beach County, knocked down heavy palm fronds which became tangled in the power lines.

Crews are working right now to restore power, and expect that it will be turned on by 6 p.m.

If you have pictures of the storm, e-mail them to beacon@pba.edu.
